Tropical Sue

Tropical Sue Dec 2015
Book 1
I pulled my semi truck into my front yard around midnight. My dog Kelly jumped out to do her business and check her pee mail. I was too tired to lug stuff from the truck into the house. I will do it in the morning.
As Kelly & I approached the front door the motion light came on. "Good job" I said to the concrete gator as I shoved him aside from his place in front of the screen door.
Kelly & I entered our modest home that I refer to as The Fortress of Solitude. I turned on some lights and walked around, checking to make sure all was well. It always smells a little musty after we've been gone for several weeks even with the air cond set on 75. I cracked some windows to let fresh air circulate.
I open the blinds on the back window and flip on the porch light. It's still there right where I left it, waiting patiently for my return. My 1972 Sears Gamefisher 14' boat named "Dolphin". My adventure boat.

Kelly waits while I fill her water bowl. I switch on the tv and caught some news. More bad guys caught in their crimes and headed to jail. They will never learn, or so it seems.  I change into my bed clothes, climb into bed and fall asleep with the tv on. Kelly climbs her special doggy stairs onto the bed and takes her place at my feet. Happily chewing on her chew toy.
Morning comes bright & early. Kelly wakes up with the sun and is already barking at me to get up & let her out. My neighbor's roosters & turkeys have been up for an hour or so already. I lay there half asleep and groggy and then I hear the news lady say "drug bust, southwest Florida area". It slightly registers in my mind. I look at the tv and see his face "omg" I think, "it's him".

Jane Fonda Chain Letter

Back in the 90's I used to work in the Entertainment Industry. For the past 11 years I've been driving a big rig truck covering the lower 48 states region. This past month, I quit my truck driving job to fulfill my dream of working at home. In order to achieve this goal, I am selling many of my belongings on Ebay, and also working as a fright broker agent, among many money making activities.

In digging through boxes in my home that have been packed away for over 12 years, I am finding a lot of buried treasure. Among my finds are collectible coins, celebrity collectibles, vhs & dvd movies, audiobooks on cassette & cd, ebooks on cd, collectible casino chips, and many unique interesting items.

One item I found was 36 pages of a Celebrity Chain Letter. I was part of this chain letter back in 1990-1991. You can see where they all passed it on in the spirit of fun.

Many of the celebrities in this Chain Letter include: Jane Fonda, Whoopie Goldberg, Goldie Hawn, Steven Spielberg, Estelle Getty, Art Buchwald, Michael Eisner, and many more. Studios included are: Disney, Warner Brothers, Lorimar and many more.

From Los Angeles to New York. This chain letter covered both coasts.

I have scanned all the pages into a complete Adobe pdf e-book. I can email a copy or send it via cd rom. I am asking $25 per e-book.

You can find this unique e-book in my Ebay store TruckerSueCloseouts. Or you can click on the website link in my profile, TruckerSue.com

Chapter 3 & 4 Time Traveler Trucker by Rowan Kelly

Chapters 3 & 4 of Time Traveler Trucker by Rowan Kelly (c)2009 All Rights Reserved

Chapter 3: Five days later, Heather and Brandy were backing the truck and trailer into a tight parking spot at the truck terminal where she left her truck during her hometime. She then proceeded to load up all her blankets, sheets, bedding, dirty clothes, computer, printer, and any thing else she wanted to take home, and placed it all in the bed of her Black 2007 Nissan Frontier pickup truck with a camper shell top on the back. Brandy jumped into her passenger seat, Heather in the driver's seat and off they went to fight Los Angeles traffic for an hour to get home. About 5pm she pulled onto Esplanade Ave and into the driveway of her little bungalow cottage on the beach. She loved this little cottage, given to her by her late Aunt Elizabeth. The little cottage sat on half an acre and was dwarfed by the huge condo complexes which dominated the street. Heather jumped out of the truck and Brandy bounced out the driver's side and quickly went to the grass yard and used the bathroom. Heather's home had a nice patch of green grass, with a white picked fence around the yard, and a small garage in the back, next to the small patch of grass in the back yard. There was a small patio area with a jacuzzi, bbq, and 2 picnic tables. It took several trips back and forth, but Heather eventually got all the items from her truck into the house. On the way home, Heather always stopped off at the grocery store and loaded up on enough food, beer, supplies to last four days. Once she got everything in the house, she began to put the food, beer, drinks away, and filled Brandy's bowls with food and water. She then sorted out the laundry and spent the next several hours doing several loads of laundry until it was all finished, folded and ready for the big truck. By the time she was done with all her chores, including a shower, it was getting late. But not late enough for her to watch her pre-recorded tv shows. At about 11pm, Heather and Brandy lay down in the same big bed and went to sleep.

Chapter 4: The next morning, after breakfast and taking Brandy out for a walk, Heather decided to take a bike ride on the strand bike path before the delivery driver brought her package to her house. As she was closing the garage after having put her bicycle away, the delivery driver pulled up in her driveway. She went to the back of her van and pulled out 3 big boxes. Heather signed for them and the driver drove away. She then carried one box at a time into her living room and placed them on the floor. She started with the larger of the three boxes, knowing that is the box with the IBM 5100 computer in it. As Heather pulled away all the packing bubble wrap, she pulled the old computer out of the box, and placed it on the table. She then plugged it in, and it took the old machine a few minutes to warm up. Numbers and odd symbols flashed across the screen and then the curser blinked. Ready for typing. Heather didn't know what to type at first. Then she typed John Titus and hit enter. Nothing happened. What did she expect? There is no internet connection to this old thing. Then she thought she would get her laptop and place it next to the old IBM and connect to the internet with the laptop, connect to John. She sent John a email letting him know that she found the old computer. She had not heard from him until the next day. She had been worried that she would never hear from him again.

Time Traveler Trucker by Rowan Kelly

I will post new chapters every week.

CHAPTER 1: As funny as it is, she and her dog are still missing. It was a hot sunny summer day in Indiana, about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis. Truck driver Heather Hochstedler and her dog Brandy, a mini australian shepherd, were driving down the road, the usual daily routine, when up ahead she saw something that had her concerned. As she got closer, she realized that there was no way she could go around it. It looked to Heather like it was Black Fog. She thought it may just be a nearby fire or perhaps the exhaust from a vehicle that had passed there. She thought about the audiobook she was listening to at the time. A Stephen King audiobook, and she chuckled to herself. Thoughts of Twilight Zone crossed her mind, along with thoughts of the Death Eaters in the Harry Potter novels. Heather braced herself in case there would be some kind of weird experience as she drove her big rig through the black fog. As she drove through it, she sniffed the air a few times. The air did not smell like smoke, fire, or exhaust. It smelled clean and pure. She and her dog Brandy, and the truck, made it through the black fog just fine. "Hmm?" she thought, "That was weird?".

A short while later, they pulled up to the truck stop to settle in for the night. Her delivery wasn't until the next day, nearby. Once parked, Heather took Brandy out for her nightly walk, before bedtime. As was Heather's routine, she went to get a light amount to food to eat from the restaurant, a shower, and then back in the truck, for a couple of hours of computer work.

Heather had some interesting hobbies, the authorities would later find out. She liked the Paranormal, and some of those Ghost Hunting TV shows, and podcasts. She was curious about UFOs', having had a peculiar experience several years ago, driving the midnight hour, one night in Arizona. She has not ever been completly sure of what it was she saw. Lights, changing colors, round, and then a fireball coming to earth. She watched the fireball and was sure it would land near the interstate and catch the dry brush on fire. She was certain she would see it. And it never caught anything on fire, but it had to hit earth. But exactly where, she could only write down an approximate. Interstate 8, between mile marker 73 and 67. She was heading westbound, on her way to Yuma. The fireball would of hit on the south side of the interstate. She thought she was just so sleepy that she was just seeing things. She pulled into the rest area to use the bathroom. As she returned to her truck, she looked up at the sky, to her right, and noticed a light beam coming straight down from the sky, but did not touch the ground. The light beam got wider as it got closer to the ground. It lasted only a few minutes and then was gone. Heather thought to herself that maybe she should not drive the night shift anymore. Too sleepy, and too weird!!

Chapter 2: This particular evening, sitting in her truck bunk with her laptop on her lap, she connected to the internet with her broadband card. This was a usual routine for Heather, she would get on Twitter and tweet back and forth with her friends, list more stuff to sell in her online store, print shipping labels from her small printer, and prepare the packages to drop in a truck stop mailbox the next day. But this evening, she had an encounter with a man like she's never had before. He called himself John Titus. He said he was from the future, 2038 to be exact. She thought he was just a weird guy, full of fantasy, but a bit interesting and intriquing none the less. They emailed back and forth for several days. He wanted her to find a old computer, from back in the 1970's. An albatross!! The type of computer was a IBM 5100. John Titus claimed that this particular type of computer has components that are used in Time Travel. "Wow!!" Heather thought, "This is way out there and pretty intriquing". Heather was the curious type. She never shyed away from much of anything in her life. Always seeming to try just about anything, once. She set out to try and find a IBM 5100 by looking in the obvious places first. The auction sites, the big search engines, computer stores and forums, but came up empty handed. Then one day while in the bathroom at a truck stop, she found a folded up flier that someone had left. On it was printed a palm tree, MyYango.Com, discounts, referral program, gift certificates and the word "Paranormal". Heather put the small flier in her hip bag. Before leaving the bathroom, she washed her hands, and fluffed up her hair. Later that evening, after driving the usual 500 or more miles per day, she parked at another truck stop. Heather took Brandy out for her walk, then they settled in for the night. Brandy chewing on her favorite chew toy, and Heather playing on the internet. She pulled out the small flier from her leather hip bag, the kind worn by the actress on her favorite tv show Burn Notice, and typed MyYango.Com in the browser window. The website was a nice, pleasant little Cyber Mall. Brand new, and not showing up on search engines yet she guessed. Heather browsed the store for awhile. Looking at the books, electronics and of course, the Paranormal section. She found and bought several interesting books on Children remembering past lives, and other paranormal books. She then scanned down and found a link that said "Old Computer Parts" and clicked on it. She couldn't believe what she saw. An old IBM 5100 computer for sale. Fully intact, all parts there. It still worked too. She quickly put the old computer in her shopping basket, and paid for all her items through the sites PayPal checkout system. Instantly after she made her purchases, she receieved a thank you email from the website owner. Heather's shipment was coming from Newberry, Florida and would only take a few days to receive. She opted for the faster shipping option, knowing that she would be home, in Redondo Beach, California in about five days. Heather spent four days off a month at home. The rest of the time, she was on the road. Driving otr as they call it, over the road. Which meant the 48 states region.
